Murals

Located on Maury Island on 5 acres, the All-Merciful Savior Russian Orthodox Monastery was constructed after a land donation from Jeff Ratzenberger from the television show "Cheers."  The painting project consisted of grey-blue walls, old-growth forest faux woodgrain on the over-head sheetrock beams, a burgundy/gold horizontal border throughout the interior, and a gold cross with eight-pointed stars in the dome.

This  20' high by 60' long Sonoran Desert and Verde Valley-themed mural in this cafe's outdoor seating area took 3 weeks.   Mingus Mountain, Tuzigoot National Monument, Jerome Arizona, Ocotillo, Prickly Pear Cactus, skunks, snakes and butterflies make their appearance in front of a sky ranging from sunset to nighttime. 

The business has since transferred ownership so the mural still exists under a new layer of paint.

The February, 28, 2001 Nisqually earthquake, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, damaged a 7-storey mural on the north face of Virginia Mason Hospital (white rectangles). Working from a suspended-access platform hung from the roof with a man who had decades of high work experience.  The general contractor introduced me to him, "This is Foley, his entire job is to make sure you stay alive."

Lovebirds are joined with parrots, macaws, toucans and cockatoos in a guest bathroom mural.

My first large mural a million years ago (and the archaic photo quality proves it!)  Parker's Sports Bar and Casino in Seattle, Washington hired me to paint a Las Vegas-themed mural on an 8' x 11' wall space at the casino's entrance. I drew the design and used an overhead projector to trace the lines on the wall.
